Model data

I am using GARP/GEMPAK for thesis-related work, and am considering doing additional study on my topic after graduation.
Preferably without using GARP/GEMPAK.
Is it possible to plot data from MM5 sigma-level and pressure level output with Digital Atmosphere?
Also... one thing I would like to see in a future version of Digital Atmosphere is the ability to use the mouse to zoom in on an area, then un-zoom back to the original area. Another nice thing to be able to do would be to define map sizes by entering the bottom left/top right bounds of a region of interest. These are areas where GARP outshines Digital Atmosphere right now, and might be worth some time to add.
