I run DAF 24/7 in batch. Sometimes (on bad days a few times a day!!) the download cannot connect to a site. In that case the screen “connecting” remains and the download does not continue. A few minutes later a second script, that generates maps, is started. This script will hang on a certain moment because the file, corresponding to the hanging download, is locked. After that DAF hangs and must be restarted. My wish:
- stop trying to connect after a certain amount of time
- in that case make an empty file
- continue the download with the next site.
Greetings
Fred

This also occurs when downloading radar images (other then US). If one radar site is down then the process hangs with the dialog box open and DAW must be re-started. I concur that a good work around would be a time out setting and once that time out time is reached, create an empty file and move on to the next site.

Yeah, I brought this up a few weeks ago. It`s a pain if you leave daws in automode for any amount of time. If a data source url is down, it generally results in DAWS locking up and requiring a restart. Awkward if we`re not around!!
There must be some way of adding a `failsafe` that times out when a url become unavailable for say five seconds or so, then moves onto the the next command/script.
