NCEP Data Transfers to Nomads servers turned off

As of 4:00PM EDT (1600Z) Jun 23, 2006 NCEP Operations has turned off all NCEP DATA TRANSFERS to NOMADS servers until further notice.
Anyone know why? Is it permanent?

If you scroll down to the last entry (#758), I believe it explains the data loss.
Now, it does not explain "why", whether it is technical or political nor if it is permanent.
