DIGATMOSPHERE plays a central role in my analysis of current weather, particularly surface weather (I have been the chief meteorologist at KGNS TV, Laredo,TX). I have always insisted upon surface analysis...I used to have to hand plot about 500 stations from around North America, and then draw in my isolines of various variables, and the frontal systems. DIGATMOSPHERE certainly is a vast improvement (although I will always have a warm spot in my heart for hand analysis)! The variety of fields available for display, the ability to determine how the contours are displayed, the ability to quality control for stations that result in a flawed contour field due to bad data, the ability to tell DIGATMOSPHERE to automatically ignore selected parameters is outstanding. It is also very much appreciated that I can add new stations as they are
commissioned, and that some mesonets are plottable.
DIGATMOSPHERE is the first and last thing that I look at during my time in the weather center.
