Comments and history | Airport with 22 parking spaces near terminal and services up to the largest types of airliners and also has extensive military logistical use. Only 11 km from border with Uzbekistan. U.S. Air Force uses this facility, informally naming it Peter J. Ganci AFB, after a firefighter killed in the 9/11 attacks. In 2005-2006 turmoil in the national government threatened the U.S. presence, but the U.S. remained. Bishkek took over the cargo overflow after the U.S. was expelled from Uzbekistan in 2006. CAICA 2000 gave elevation as 637 m. |
