Comments and historyAirfield appears to be in very poor condition; almost unpaved. Small tarmac with a few old revetments. On 20 May 1989 Capt Alexander Zuyev defected with MiG-29 to Turkey. In 2001 Georgia was trying to dismantle this base against Russian wishes.
