DAWS NEXRAD color combinations

Post by Roy Leep »

In trying to make a compatible basemap color scheme in DAWS I find that it always distorts the color for NEXRAD plots. Is there a way to turn NEXRAD color opaque? If not has anyone come up with a good backgroud and land color? I can't seem to duplicate the ones in the Help manual.

Thanks,

Roy

Roy,

I'm not sure if there's a way to make radar returns opaque...my guess would be there isn't. With this being the case, the best background would be either all black or all white. That said, I use the background map shown below. It distorts the colors just slightly...mostly over the water.

OK Thanks, I have been using all white background and With the transparent colors I guess that is what only works.

Thanks again.

Yes; you should stick with white or black backgrounds for opacity to work. There's nothing more I can do without complicating the software, but a more sophisticated scheme (including opacity control) will be the next logical step forward in a future version.
