First item:
DAWS 1.1 SET COMMENT does not work for an analysis map. It does work for data plots though.
Second item:
Under the fronts tab in the control panel, nothing works. Clicking start new overlay generates an "access violation at address 00566342 in module 'digatmos.exe'. Read of address 000002D4."
The same error is generated by clicking on any of the options.
Third item:
Speed buttons "slp" "deg c" and "deg f" do nothing.
System: Win XP Pro, dula proc Xeon, 1GB ram

Steve:
The first two items mentioned aren't working for me either. The slp and temp speed buttons are, however.
In addition the save basemap function after planetary map import isn't functioning. It only saves the DA WS geography and not the imported image. DA WS does save the base map image correctly if you use the import map function, however. One other small thing the status bar check under windows can't be removed.....nothing major here though.

I just used save basemap, thanks. Incidentally, do you have any ideas on how to easily create regional shaded relief images for DA WS. I have software that reads DEM models and converts the projection to ortho- graphic, and I even use the same central lat long used in DA WS, but for some reason a lot of tweaking is still required. Even after tweaking the results don't always match up 100%.
Good that it works now.
No I don't have much experience with it. I use a file "earthmap_hires" that I downloaded from one of the sites that is mentioned in the manual under "inport planetary map". I used it on a couple of generated maps with different scale without any problems. It matches completely. Only when I generate a map of a small area the result is not good (not smooth) but still fits 100%.

I have also checked the comments made by Steve and have made the following observations.
1st item:
DAWS 1.1 SET COMMENT does not work for an analysis contours maps. It does work for data plots though & TV Plots.
2nd item:
Under the fronts tab in the control panel, nothing works. Clicking start new overlay generates an "access violation at address 00566342 in module 'digatmos.exe'. Read of address 000002D4."
The same error is generated by clicking on any of the options.
3rd item:
Speed buttons "slp" "deg c" and "deg f" does work perfectly.
Just a thought Steve, have you checked that the % is not missing from script title in digatmos.mnu
SPECIAL TITLE SUFFIXES
# %1 = Marks the sea-level pressure analysis for toolbar shortcut SLP
# %2 = Marks the temperature (C) analysis for toolbar shortcut DEG C
# %3 = Marks the temperature (F) analysis for toolbar shortcut DEG F
4th item: File>preferences>maps: Label Longtitude & Latitude lines does not work when generating a new map from the quick pick list.
5th item: Analysis Command Scripting.
Error message " Digital Atmosphere encountered a range check error".
Is there a maximum lenght of characters that can be used for scripts as when I use the following Absolute Vorticity Shading, this works ok.
OVER COLOR=255:66:66 FILS=0 GRTN=29 SMLC=1:100000 STOR=1 AVRT WIND FILL COLOR=255:128:0 FILS=0 GRTN=25 SMLC=1:100000 STOR=1 AVRT WIND FILL COLOR=255:159:64 FILS=0 GRTN=19 SMLC=1:100000 STOR=1 AVRT WIND FILL COLOR=255:255:45 FILS=0 GRTN=13 SMLC=1:100000 STOR=1 AVRT WIND FILL COLOR=255:255:168 FILS=0 GRTN=6 SMLC=1:100000 STOR=1 AVRT WIND
However if I increase the string by a another group of 64 characters the error message appears. The script works ok when pasted into digatmos.mnu
Not being an expert script writer this may be an error on my part!
System: Win 98, P4 2Ghz, 500mb ram
Tim, what an excellent program this is now, well done on continued hard work, hope you enjoyed your holiday.

I will check all this out. Just some comments:
- The SLP, TEMPF, and TEMPC buttons will not do anything if an older digatmos.mnu analysis script file still resides in the Digital Atmosphere directory (as what Peter pointed out). I believe the install gives you the option of replacing this file... if you can't fix the digatmos.mnu file you can always use the reinstall and allow it to replace the file.
- The planetary maps must cover 90N to 90S and 180W to 180E in order to match up exactly. I am aware that some planetary maps only cover 80N to 80S... some of the better planetary map sites tell you which maps have this problem.
