Fleetcode import bug

Post by Meteo Maarssen »

Fleetcode users,

You will get an error:

Digital Atmosphere encounters an error: Range check error.

while using the Fleetcode of july 21, 12 UTC. It seems that the cause of
this bug is a limited amount rows or codegroups accepted by DAWS for
Fleetcode. You will see in the group 99922 the next isobar code:

44016 80002 79050 79152 77183 74253 73260 72251 73182 74133 75093
73032 70011 69006 67018 62031 53041 51023 50000 49003 50030
51063 50093 48072 47070 45052 43031 40010 39010 39032 37061
37100 35103 33101 33110 32143 31161 31183 32182 34181 36183
39170 41152 43160 44161 45181 47183 51172 51161 51140 51133
52133 54113 55121 56140 55180 54220 51252 50270 48261 45203
44202 43213 43232 42242 39230 39230 39240 41252 41303 42350
42360 45373 48360 50343 54352 56400

You can solve this problem manual in Notepad. Repeat at each fourth row
(gridpoints) the code (isobarcode), for this example 44016, and save it.
Thus:

44016 80002 79050 79152 77183 74253 73260 72251 73182 74133 75093
73032 70011 69006 67018 62031 53041 51023 50000 49003 50030
51063 50093 48072 47070 45052 43031 40010 39010 39032 37061
44016 37100 35103 33101 33110 32143 31161 31183 32182 34181 36183
39170 41152 43160 44161 45181 47183 51172 51161 51140 51133
52133 54113 55121 56140 55180 54220 51252 50270 48261 45203
44016 44202 43213 43232 42242 39230 39230 39240 41252 41303 42350
42360 45373 48360 50343 54352 56400

Restart DAWS, open your map and data to plot fleetcode. A correct
plotted map should be available now.

This bug is already reported to Tim and I hope that this would be fixed
in an update patch.

Bizarre problem. I will try using the data you showed, but do you have a URL to the actual data, so that I can make sure no control characters or anything else are causing a failure.
