Planetary Maps in gif format

Post by Weasel »

Can't be imported for some reason, I get a floating point division by zero error message. This has been the case for quite some time now, and still exists in the latest version. This is hardly a major issue as jpg, and bmp both work fine.

Bizarre... have never seen that. I wonder if the source GIF is using some new format that the GIF component I'm using doesn't recognize.

I'll convert it to a bmp, and then convert bmp to a gif again and see what happens. As I said this is really rather minor anyway.

Incidentally, if you use import map (which is basically useless for this map) the gif image displays fine. So DA does recognise the gif format used, it just doesn't work for planetary imports.

OK, one thing you may want to do is check and make sure that it is for 90N-90S and 180W-180E. If the aspect ratio is wrong (should be 1:2) then you will get this error.
