DAWS 1.1c Windows 98 map problems continue I was able

Post by Roy Leep »

Tim:

There continues to be a map drawing problem with W98. The coastline thickness seems to be related. It is difficult to describe and may have something to do with the size of the map.

I can draw any size US map with a coastline of 1 but if I attempt to increase the line thickness the map will abort and crash the program. Before it crashes it draws Mexico in the thicker line.

On one of the earlier versions I was able to draw just Florida and the Caribbean with a thicker coastline but not now. Now if I attempt to increase the coastline thickness on this map nothing happens, it remains at thickness 1.

You may recall I reported a lot of map aborts in the earlier versions, I finally got around this by only using thickness 1. My attentention then shifted to other problems but apparently this problem has always remained.

Summarizing I cannot draw a US map with a coastline greater than 1.

Actually, I think it might be related to the thickness of the International Boundary. I had mine set to a thickness of 2...and got the same errors that have been discussed in prior posts (i.e., when drawing a map of the United States, DA would draw in Mexico, then crash). This was true for maps of Canada as well...though DA worked fine drawing up a map of Europe. But when I changed the International Boundary Thickness from 2 to 1, the program worked fine.
