I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm the author of WXSIM, and am always interested in feedback and new ideas for the program. I also will be checking this forum frequently in case anyone has questions about WXSIM. The fully functional version (except not customized for your site - that's what registration is for) is available here on Tim's site, and also on my web page at
Hello there Tom
Nice to see you making your presence on the forum as well. Well I did suggest this earlier for a future version of wxsim :
some kind of comparison-module which would enable you to compare runs taken at different times in a graph or in some kind of text-output window ( or even better: both )
WXSIM does include a large number of stability or convective weather indices in its output, like lifted index, Showalter index, K-index, total totals, and also European ones like Boyden and KO. It also has its own 'convective bulletins', which are kind of an experimental combination of the above. Being largely a 'single-site' model, though, it doesn't have a clear enough picture of what's going on around it to see the apporach of actual severe weather - just the potential or general likelihood of it.
