RUC data

Post by wxforecaster »

Does the DAWS work with RUC data and can you import data into the program? This would work great for severe weather prameters!

Let me know and thanks for you time!

Would anyone know where I can find a good site to import RUC data into DAWS?

Thanks

http://nomads.ncdc.noaa.gov/ is probably you're best bet.

Be sure and use the 211 domain.

Hasn`t the archive NOAAport service been discontinued? in favour of the new resolution models (nam and gfs). Where else would we go for grid 211 ?

Poke around in here and see what you can come up with:

ftp://ftpprd.ncep.noaa.gov/pub/data/nccf/com/

Or you can try poking around in http://weather.noaa.gov/pub/SL.us008001/ST.opnl/ too.

Wonder if NOMADS was discontinued because of too much traffic?

Just a thought:)

Pat, how do you import those because they have a different file extension? Do they need to be converted somehow?
