Fix for Nebraska radar - download this

Post by Wally Mayo »

The radar at Thedford, Nebraska which is between Valentine and North Platte, is now KLNX, not KTIF which DAWS now has.

If you want to have it plot at all, you need to download the following small file (use SHIFT-click or CONTROL-click) to save FILE at
http://www.weatherroanoke.com/digatmos.nxa
and put it in the main folder of your DAWS. (Overwrite, but it never hurts to backup original files). No other action needed (compiling or anything).

You will have a big HOLE in your severe (or any) weather plots unless you do this. KTIF will not produce any plotting.

Tim says it's okay to put this up. He will have it in the many many fixes and improvements that we all are getting closer to.

He has not forgotten us or the software. I have to say, we ALL know that nobody can make a fulltime living on such software. And I, for one, am very glad he has produced an incredible work on the side while having a real life!

Thanks for the updated file, Wally! I hadn't even noticed the change in site ID.

Pat

I'm glad Tim finds the time to work on Dig Atm as well. One needs to remember how often a corporation the size of M$ either upgrades or comes out with a new product. For example, one should consider how long it has been since they released a new version of Windows with a team of who knows how many programmers (maybe 1000??).

I think Tim keeps up pretty well with Dig Atm upgrades considering it is a one man show!

Well, it turns out that whenever you do a recompile stations, it also recompiles your radar config file.
So, if you have recompiled since getting the radar file (incl the ones I did)....
http://www.weatherroanoke.com/digatmos.nxa
get it again.
or...

The way to fix this permanently, is to d'load the LATEST digatmos.stn file...
http://www.weatherroanoke.com/digatmos.stn
save and recompile.

It now has TIF as LNX for the Nebraska radar and future recompiles will have the radar correct from now on.
