More info on AWIPS shapefile problem

This applies to the Counties file located at http://www.nws.noaa.gov/geodata/catalog ... ty100k.htm

When plotted at the national scale, everything plots fine until it gets to the states of TN, VA, MA, ME. The message below appears

I can click "OK", the program plots counties for MA and ME, but stops short of a few in VA and none in TN. The following message then appears:

I'm not sure if any of this is helpful. ArcExplorer plots that file, so I assume it's something related to DAWS. I get a "Range Check Error" when trying to load the AWIPS States file and nothing plots.

OK, this problem has been fixed... I have raised the limits for a shapefile up to 25,000 points and 5000 parts. This is a huge file (around 83 MB) so it is certainly pushing the limits. The AWIPS file appears to plot now without errors.

I have also added code (and a style file entry) so that the line colors and widths for shapefiles, as well as font labels, can be specified.
