1. Depending on what type of smoothing you use, Barnes for example, will determine how long it takes to run through each individual script.
2. The greater the area, the longer it takes to complete.
3. If it is surface data being assim, and you are using Barnes or Cressman, it can take many minutes to run. (Not to mention your grid size which also can slow it down.
4. Depending on your machine, your times will be different. I am currently using a 4 year old laptop that runs on diesel fuel and the longest script i have takes about 7 min to run. Your settings and your machine, will determine how long it takes for you!!!
5. I do save the files, I have removed those lines to keep from confusing people new to this stuff. You can skip the rest of the #5 if you are familiar with saving stuff for DA. The general format for saving on your machine is to locate the file that stores all the DA stuff: it may look like this:
C:\Users\name of your computer goes here\AppData\Local\DigitalAtmosphere2017
The "name of..." is going to be the name of YOUR computer.
I save all of the below in one file, you can name what ever you want, I have it stored as indexplus.dsf
