How about instead of "adding ....." make it so it's a box, and you can turn the function off or on......For instance, I decided to add county outlines to a map, then I added the names of the counties but it was too cluttered, I wish I could just deselect the county names and have them disappear maintaining the current map........(or maybe you can do this, and it's just user error)

That's a good idea for future versions (and something like this is already planned) but it is too complicated to implement right now. Such functions seem simple but they are not and they do consume a lot of resources.
