How does the GRADIENTCOLOR-script works

Post by hoevenm »

In the manual, I see

GRADIENTCOLOR,red|green|blue,ph1|ph2|scale|offset,value

How should I use this? can someone give me an working example?

As the manual suggest, I did look in the preferences -> Misc, but it is unclear to me how to translate those figures to the GRADIENTCOLOR-script.

Thanks,
Maarten

Right now in DAWS the GRADIENT switch is inoperative pending further work, so GRADIENTCOLOR won't do anything. I'll get this working soon.

The actual process of setting a gradient is simply fitting a sine wave to represent the color response of red, green, and blue to the range of data values.

Take a look at the representation of a sine wave:

Consider that you have temperature data on a map that ranges from 5C to 25C. If you set ph1=0 and ph2=90, then this will be mapped as 5C = dark and 25C = bright. You can vary this by setting the scale and offset values, or invert it by setting ph1=90 and ph2=180.
